The world-famous opera singer Fyodor Shalyapin, Lola Tornagi, his Italian wife, and their five children had been living here for 12 years. Shalyapin’s house was often visited by Gorky, Rachmaninoff, Bunin and Stanislavsky. After the muse- um reconstruction Lola’s boudoir, the dining room, the green and white living rooms, the study-room and billiard room of Fyodor were recreated. Now you can see here the original furniture, Bechstein piano, a grandfather clock, the theatrical costumes and posters.
The White Hall and the Gallery regularly host concerts, meetings, children parties, etc. Changing exhibitions, guided tours are held as well.
The museum is closed for renovation until approximately the end of 2015!
