Memorial Apartment of Andrei Bely

Memorial Apartment of Andrei Bely

The museum offers its visitors the opportunity to experience the atmosphere of the first third of the twentieth century, as well as to get acquainted with the biography and works of Andrey Bely — one of the brightest representatives of the Silver Age: poet, writer, philosopher, theorist of symbolism. He has lived in this apartment for twenty-six years since birth until 1906. Afterwards in Beliy’s biography there were plenty of addresses, cities, countries: he rented rooms in different parts of Moscow and the Moscow suburb Kutchino, in St. Petersburg and Tsarskoye Selo, a Swiss the town of Dornach, in Berlin... But he believed his homeland was the Arbat and his real home — the one which is now a museum.
