The Glinka Museum of Musical Culture

The Glinka Museum of Musical Culture is the largest treasure house of musical culture relics and a major centre of musicology and history of music. The museum collection includes rare musical instruments, manuscripts, personal items, autographs, rare books and sheet music of Russian and foreign musicians. The collection of national musical instruments, including masterpieces by A. Stradivari, Guarneri and Amati families occupies a special place in the museum. Concerts of organ and chamber music are held in the Prokofiev hall. Here you can see the german organ by A. Schuke. The oldest organ made by Friedrich Ladegast (1868) can be heard in the lobby.
