Paleontological museum

Paleontological museum

Paleontological Museum - one of the oldest museums of natural science - traces its history to the first Russian public museum - to the Kunstkamera Museum of Peter the Great. The museums’ exposition accounting for near 5500 paleontological objects was created on the basis of the biggest and richest scientific collections of the Paleontological Institute. Here you can see the remains of the largest predator on Earth ever - а 12 meters long Tarbosaurus. It used to live on the territory of modern China and Mongolia, but nowadays his habitat is located in the south-west of Moscow. A cast of the 30-meter Diplodocus skeleton - a herbivore this time - may also seem interesting! The museum is one of the most impressive paleontological museums in the world.
