“The Russian fairy-tale” - The Wooden Palace of Alexey Mikhailovich built in the second half of the 17th century in Kolomenskoye is considered to be one of the best masterpieces of Russian wooden architecture. French composer Hector Berlioz in 1868 wrote: "I’ve seen a lot, I've admired a lot, I've been astonished so many times. But the ancient Rus – the one that appeared before our eyes in the monuments of Kolomenskoe – is one of the most amazing things ever". Named by the contemporaries the «Eighth wonder of the world», the Palace was destroyed in the 18th century and reconstructed nowadays according to the old blueprints. Note: the Palace is located in the very end of the park near Kashirskaya metro station. See the map.
